existing between the whites and Freedmen is not very good, the Freedmen being disposed to treat the whites in general with suspicion and place very little confidence in them. The prejudices of the whites against the Freedmen is still very strong, no organization for the furtherance of the cause of Temperance has been effected in this Division, though endeavors are and have been made for that purpose. The Freedmen in this Division are not inclined to be intemperate.
