General;
The condition of Bureau Affairs since last report has undergone no change worthy of notice. 

The freedmen are quiet and hard at work, and as a general thing are doing their best to ameliorate their condition, by providing themselves with the
necessaries of life. They are orderly and well-behaved, and are looking forward to the day when they can till their own little farms and the cabin they live in will in truth be their "castle".- when they
may be able to educate their children, and when
their voice and their vote shall be potent in the
conduct of public affairs. by means of which they may be enabled to secure to themselves that protection, which is now accorded only in obedience to military authority or by the selfish instincts of their employers. There are unmistakable indications that the leaders of the secession element intend to prevent the freedmen from exercising their
