In compliance with the requirements of Circular No 6. from Hd. Quarters. Asst Comr Dist of Virginia January 29th 
1868, I have the honor to [[strikethrough]] report [[/strikethrough]] submit the following Report of the operations of the Bureau of RF and AL in the 1st Division 10th Sub. Dist of Virginia for the month of May 1868.

The attendance upon the Schools has slightly increased since last report, although owing to the fact that two of the schools have been closed the total of attendance this month shows 821. as compared with 865 scholars reported last month, a difference of 44. The number of scholars in the schools closed was 83 showing a difference of 39 in favor of the attendance this month.
