Pursuant to the Cir. No. 6 S. 1866 Head Quarters Asst Comr. Va. I have the honor to report on the "condition of Bureau affairs"
Having been recently assigned to duty, it will be impossible to give as ful an account of the "condition of affairs" in this division as I hope to be able to give in the future.
The freedmen are industrious and peacible, and are making a comfortable support for themselves, though often their wages are small and when they rent land as houses they are compelled to pay high rents.
Schools are not in session this month, but the freedmen are interested in the subject of education, and are organ
