General: 
I have the honor to report that the condition of freedmen in these divisions is unchanged since last report from this office.

There is apparent good feeling between all classes, a disposition upon the part of freedmen to work when hungry and out of money; but a general depression. The limit of effort seems to be subsistence.

I have no confidence of the forced good will of the whites; and there is no doubt that a democratic triumph next fall would cause wide extended abuse
