General, -

I have the honor to report pursuant to Cir No 6 Series 1866 from Hd Qrs Asst Com Dist of Va, That the general condition of Freedmen affairs remains much the same as at date of last report.  The crops now about to be harvested are in most instances good and it is believed that most of those who have turned their attention to farming will be able to live through the winter without aid

The issue of Rations has been stopped all paupers having been turned over to the Civil Authorities in accordance with instruction from the Asst Com.  There is no School either day or Sabbath now in the Div.  The private pay School having met with poor support on account of want of means among the Freedmen
