Complaints on the part of the Freedmen to the effect that they are treated unjustly by their employers continue to come in, which as a general thing are adjudicated in this office.

Intemperance does not prevail to any alarming extent among this class. I have not yet seen an intoxicated colored person since I came here and I am reliably informed that sich a thinf has not been known here for some time.

The Public School reopens the 2nd Nov. with flattering prospect of a large attendance during the WInter especially-
