The arristocratic portion of the people in a few landed proprietors, who owned most of the poor lands of this county find thay cannot have things their own way that King George was not made for the Bourbons but the Bourbons for King George So all seem willing to accept the situation, strive together for the future success and prosperity of the County and State,

The colord people are industrious and generally good citizens. The percentage of crime is on the decrease, the experiment of conferring the right of citizenship upon the Freedman has been a decided success in this Dist. Schools and school houses are needed The cause of education is in rather a backward state owing to the impoverished condition of the county, The colored people will need the protection of the Bureau in this Dist for some time to come
