prominent citizens of the County of both colors with reference to the establishing of col'd schools, and am hopeful of having at least three more in operation soon.  One at Verdon will doubtless be begun the first of the month, and probably one in the vicinity of Beaver Dam.  I have appointed to visit that place at an early day for this object.  If suitable teachers could be had I think the necessary buildings can be rented.  I have recently heard of several ladies who will gladly undertake in this work but I have not yet had an opportunity of seeing them upon the subject.

Where the necessary buildings could not be obtained, an amount of from $35 to $50. would be required to enable each neighborhood to erect a school building.  Afterwards some of the schools would be self supporting.  Others would only pay teachers board.
