The restoration of the Wise Farm to Genl Nise has taken place (by order of Maj Remington in accordance with Cir 25 C.S. from your Hd Qrs) during the present month, This change is likely to be productive of a good deal of Suffering among the old & disabled now living on said Farm, as they have been notified to leave the place in 30 Days by Genl Nise,

It was found impracticable to collect the Rent due from the Tenants on the Farm without producing great Suffering among them, in view of the restoration of the Farm and their having to seek new homes.

Much anxiety is felt by the Freedpeople on account of the breaking up of this Bureau, which has been to them "an ever present help in time of trouble"
