The military is now organized in the State may prove amply sufficient to protect every man woman & child in their rights as citizens of Virginia & the United States.

There is little or no sickness or distress among the freedpeople of my Division and they are as a general rule in a very prosperous condition. I cannot before closing this report refrain from returning my thanks to the Gentlemen under whom it has been my good fortune to serve while on duty in this Bureau. Their many acts of personal kindness to me in my weakness will ever be remembered as I walk down the vista of life & their generosity & kindness will ever be cherished by
