while I am sensible that there have been many imperfection connected with the discharge of my duties stil I feell a consciousness of having mad an honest endeavor to be faithful in my obligation to the government whose agent & representative I have been and to those who have been committed to my case To all who have extended toward me and my imperfections that courteous forbearance so eminently becoming an officer and a gentleman I wish to express my grateful acknowledgements and the assurance that their consideration will always be remembered
