agent of an extensive Cotton Ware House, in all his representations & dealings with the Government.
Under orders he seized the contents of the Warehouse from which the Gov't received a very large quantity, and Mr Bain has ever shown the disposition to afford, when requested. all information in his possession relating to the amount, condition, and ownership of all such cotton, without regard to his personal interests,
Has seen his Parole & certificate of oath of amnesty, and trusts that it will be found consistent to restore to him (Bain) his house at Portsmouth Va,
