Requisitions are made almost daily for lumber for the purpose or covering the Officers and men of this regiment. Many of the old rebel buildings in the vicinity of Richmond have been turned over to the Freedmens Bureau. It may probibly furnish the matireal required.

Eastville Oct 19th 1865.
Respectfully forwarded to Capt A. S. Flagg Supt R.F. & A.L. Norfolk. The applicant is a very aged lady (about 70 years of age) and feeble and utterly unable to do anything against the government. I am credibly informed that she has almost nothing beside this place for her support. She has a life estate in the property, independent of her children as shown by the affidavit of Dr Geo Kerr. who married her daughter. The certificate that she has taken the amnesty oath is forwarded herewith. After examination I am satisfied that the statements of the Petitioner are substantially correct.
