Respectfully returned. Mr Carey Breckenridge. states that his father sent the families to Lewisburg West Va. at the request of their husbands who were at work in the Kanawha Valley- They having left with Genl Hunters' Army - One woman requested to go with them who had no husband. He gave them seven days rations. and sent his teams with them to save their going on foot, as they were determined to leave, therefore he took them out of Kindness. and has at least twenty now who cannot pay their way & he is supporting them & does not intend to turn them off.
