I would recommend that the property of J.J. and G.D. Wise near Chescommessex Creek be restored subject to leases, and the Farm at Acomac C.H. of about seventy acres is needed and is being prepared to receive the poor of the county. We already have many freedmen and a Hospital upon it. and this could not be given up without manifest injury to the freedmen. The office referred to is retained by Lt Hite as commandant of Shore he being the only com'r officer on the shore. and is no way an act of a Bureau Officer.
