A letter was received from Lt. W.A. Mc Nulty Asst. Supt. dated 21st Feby 1866. stating that "the boarding house of Miss Wood, teacher of the Freedmens School at Warrenton Va. was visited by a party of rowdies, who came under her window, and indulged in all sorts of obscene songs and rebel expressions- Refers to statement of Miss Wood (enclosed) states that order cannot be preserved n that place without the aid of the U.S. Troops". This letter was forwarded to the Commanding Gen'l Dept Va, with the request that troops be sent to Warrenton.
The papers have not been returned, but the Com'd'g Genl. promised the Asst Com'r that as soon as cavalry was sent him, he would station a company at Warrenton.
The cavalry has been expected some time
