Head Quarters Sixth District, Virginia,
Winchester, Va., October 17 1865.

In accordance with Special Order No 54 P III from Head Quarters Asst Commr State of Va. Bureau of R.F. & A.L. dated Richmond Va September 13th 1865 I hereby turn over to William H Martin the Brick dwelling house located in Harpers Ferry Jefferson County Va held by the Bureau as Abandoned Lands and rented to James W. Sneadman the Lease to whom expired on the 30th day of September 1865

I William H. Martin of Harpers Ferry Jefferson County Va do hereby acknowledge that I have received from Capt W Storer How A.Q.M Supt. Bu R.F. & A.L in the Sixth District Va the Brick Dwelling house located in Harpers Ferry, the said Brick dwelling house being my own property.

And I also hereby assent and agree to the conditions of the order under which this property is restored to me
