HEAD QUARTERS, SIXTH DISTRICT VIRGINIA
WINCHESTER, VA., January 12th 1866

In accordance with S.O. No.5 P. II from Hd. Qrs. Asst. Comr. State of Virginia, Bu. R. F. & A. L. dated Richmond, Va January 9th 1866. I hereby turn over to William Richards the dwelling house and lot situated in Harpers Ferry Va, held by this Bureau as Abandoned Lands.

I, William Richards, do hereby acknowledge that I have this day received of Capt. H. Stover How A.Q.M. Supt. Bu. R.F. & A.L. Sixth Dist. Va, the dwelling house and lot located in Harpers Ferry, Va, the said dwelling house and lot being my own property, and I also assert and agree to the terms of the order under which this property is restored to me.
