Enclosed I have the honor to transmit my "Land Report" for the month of June 1866, compiled from the "Land Books." of this office after a careful examination of the various orders of restoration. The original lists of the property, transf'd to this office from the Treasury Agent, are in many instances incorrect, both as regards, the names of former owners, and the locality of pieces of property, Treasy. Agents have also in some instances given permission to owners to occupy their property rent free. For these reasons, many errors have been made, in checking property restored, from the "Land Books", and many pieces of property borne on "Bureau Land Books" are virtually in possession of the owners, who occupy them free of any rent. - Another prolific source of error,
