or, from an indefiniteness in the order as to what "tract" or "lot" was meant.

The following are of this latter class.

E.E. Savage. S.O. 122. Series 1865.
George Jones. (to William Wood) S.O. No. 111. 1865.
Elizabeth K. Curtis. and James Curtis. S.O. No. 45. C.S.
William Reed. S.O. No. 77. C.S.

The property restored to Geo. Tunnell, S.O. No. 92, series 1865, belonged to a freedman. The restoration was stayed by order of the Asst. Comr. and the case was referred to the courts for decision, and is still in the hands of the lawyers. This property was never in the possession of the Bureau.

Several tracts of land still reported, are in the hands of the former owners. In some instances application has been made for them, but the papers were lost, and no new application has been made.

With Great Respect.
I am, Sir. your obedient Servant.
