General: - In compliance with your orders of the 4th inst, directing me to examine and take possession of each piece of property, described in Bv't Brig Genl. Howards Report of Abandoned and Confiscated lands of Loudon county, Va., I have the honor to report, that I have complied with the above mentioned order, and the following is my report, viz:.

Adams James 1st, house and lot, in Leesburg, this property does not belong to Mr. A, he only has control of it.  Mr. Quillen[?] Barkman holds the title of this property.  Adams never owned it.  It is tenanted by George Donahugh, pays $110 per annum.

Adams James 2nd. Sold this property = 5 acres of land - to Edward Marlow on the 4th of Aug 1865.  Mr. Marlow used it the past season for general farming purposes.

Berkley W.N. occupies this farm himself
