To Colo O. Brown Superintendent of Freedmans Bureau of Virginia

The application of the undersigned states that he was pardoned by the president of the United States on the 23d of September eighteen hundred & sixty five, and that he is the owner of Lot No 34 on Boash Street in the city of Norfolk, which lot is states by Charles E. Johnson Asst Supert to be under lease bearing date the 20th day of September last to Jany E McKenny for the term of six months
The undersigned further states that he files herewith the evidence of his title to the said lot, and that the libel instituted against the same has been regularly dismissed.  
The undersigned further states that he took in due form the several oaths of amnesty required by the proclamations of Presidents Lincoln and Johnson. The undersigned further states that as he is advised the
