Col.
The undersigned represents to you, that he is the owner of two farms in York County, one of said farms contains four hundred and eleven & a half acres, bounded North by the public road. East by R.R. Garrett heirs, South by H.H. Wynne, and West by said H.H.Wynne and M. Wall. The other farm contains one hundred and twenty seven acres, and is bounded North by Wormleys Creek, East by R.R. Garretts heirs, South by the public road, and west by Peter Goodwin.
 
The undersigned represents that he is not included in any of the excepted classes of the Amnesty proclamation of his excellency Andrew Johnson of May 29th 1865. That he is not worth twenty thousand dollars, that has taken the oath of prescribed in said proclamation, and claims to be, and is, a loyal citizen of the United States.

The undersigned represents that he resided at the time of the breaking out of the War on the farm described in this petition and was compelled to leave the same, because of the location being between the contending armies, and left all of his stock & crops there on hand at said farm.

The undersigned represents that his application of July 28th 1865 for the restoration of the above farms, expressly stated his willingness for the Freedmen to remain on them the present year. (1866), and believes agents of the Bureau with whom he has been acting in this matter, will testify, both as to his willingness to lease his land to the Freedmen, & in other respects friendly & humane to the race.  For these & other reasons, the undersigned respectfully asks the restoration of his lands, with such rents as has accrued he took the amnesty oath on the 1st day of August last (1866) and also such of his personal property as may be identified.
