[[Ms Trd. B. Jackson]]
Sir
I have a letter from Mrs. Cunningham of St. Francisco California the widow of the late Capt. Robert Cunningham of the U.S. Army who was stationed and died in California before the war commenced, he owned a Farm on little Creek some Seven or Eight miles from this place, which Farm was rented by his Agent to a man by the name of Moore, who after the war commenced became obnoxious to the Federal Government and was by authority of the Government sent over the Lines, thus leaving the place abandoned, and subsequently taken possession of by the U. States, Freedman's Bureau and is now in their possession.
We request that it may be turned over to her that I acting as her Agent may Rent it out for her Account.
Respectfully your Obt. Servant.
