City of Norfolk S.S.

On this third day of October Eighteen hundred and sixty five before me the undersigned a Notary Public in and for the City aforesaid in the State of Virginia duly commissioned and qualified and authorized by the laws of said state to administer oaths for general purposes in said City, personally appeared George W. Ferebee, who, being by me first duly sworn doth [[strikethrough]] doth [[/strikethrough]] depose and say that he has read the President's proclamation of the 29th May 1865 in which are contained certain privileges and immunities to those that have been engaged in the late rebellion. and excepting certain persons whose cases are particularly enumerated therein; and that the case of the said deponent does not come within any one of the exceptions in the said proclamation contained as he verily believes.
