Corporation of the City of Richmond

This day Robert E. Daggett personally appeared before me, a Notary Public in and for the said corporation and state, and being first duly sworn testifies and says, that he has known Miers W. Fisher of the County of Northampton and his father residing in Liberty in the County of Bedford in the said State, [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] the said Fisher residing the the same place the affiant had many opportunities of knowing what business he was engaged in, and of his own personal knowledge, the said Miers W. Fisher was engaged in the practice of his profession of law in the said County - that he was not at any time engaged in arms against the United States, nor giving aid or comfort in any way to the enemies of the United States so far as he knows or believes - that he knew personally that the said Fisher was engaged in no other business for the last two or three years proceeding the evacuation of the City of Richmond by the Confederate forces, [[than]] the practice of his profession and never heard that he held any office, [[place]] or trust or appointment under the Confederate or State government and further saith not
