The petition of D.J. Godwin of the City of Portsmouth & state of Virginia respectfully represents, that he has recd. from the President of the U. States, duly certifid & regularly granted, a Special Pardon, dated the 3rd. day of July 1865.  That he is the owner, in fee simple, of the following property, to wit:

One house & lot, in the City of Portsmouth, situate on the west side of Court street, & bounded as follows to wit:  Beginning twenty six feet six inches from the intersection of Court & Queen Streets and running South thirty feet, thence West one hundred & eighty feet, thence North fifty six feet six inches to Queen Street, thence East along Queen Street thirty feet, thence South fifty two feet six inches, thence East thirty feet, thence North twenty six feet, thence East one hundred and twenty feet to the beginning.  And one tract of land (farm) situate in the county of Norfolk & bounded as follows to wit:  On the North by the lands of Henry Garretts being the lands of Mrs. Lidia Scott:  On the west
