To Col. OB. Brown. Supt. Freedman to Richmond Va.

Col. I beg leave most respectfully to submit to your consideration the following statement of facts. I moved into the Federal lines, on or about the 20th of May 1864, and took possession of my farm the "Sweet Spring," in the county of Warwick containing one Hundred and fifty three acres of land and resided in the dwelling house until I was ejected by force by one William Bartlett, who after turning me out of doors took and carried away one cow and calf, two yoke of oxen, one axe cart, and one turnbull cart, leaving me a lone widow, above sixty years of age, not only houseless, but entirely destitute of the means of procuring the means of subsistence. The above articles of property were the only means of support, which I possissed to obtain a living for myself and aged sister. I most earnestly request that you will order the restoration of the above property.

'possissed' is spelt incorrectly, correct spelling is possessed
