leaving her  house except from imperious necessity, and whenever she does leave, she has to be carried; and therefore, it has not been her power to aid and encourage the rebellion.  That your petitioner has taken the Amnesty Oath prescribed by the proclamation of President Johnson of 29th May 1865, a certified copy of which is herewith filed marked "B" and that she does not come under any of the excepted classes of said proclamation.  That the said property has never been libeled, as will appear by certificate of the Clerk of the District Court of U.S. for the Eastern district of Va, herewith filed marked "C".  That the said property was first taken possession of by the Qr. Mr. [[Quarter Master]] Dept on 1st Dec 1863 and continued in the possession of said Dept. until the 4th Sept. 1865, on which day for the first time it was turned for to the Freedman's Bureau at Norfolk, as will appear by the Certificate of Capt Nat Low Jr. A.Q.M. at Norfolk, herewith filed marked "D" see Affidavit No 2 That the said property is now held by a recent tenant of the Freedman's Bureau.  That your Petitioner is a poor helpless, afflicted widow with two young children dependent on her, and that the aforesaid house and lot is almost her sole dependence for a livelihood.  In consideration of the foregoing premises, your petitioner most respectfully and humbly prays that the aforesaid house and lot
