Dear Sir,
The applicant respectfully submits the following statement, & begs your favourabl consideration. I am a paroled Private soldier of Lee's Army, & have taken both Amnesty oaths, with the full intention of keeping them. My property was in Elizabeth City & York counties The whole valued for taxes at a little over seventeen thousand dollars in 1860. My land in Elizabeth City Co: I find has been confiscated & sold, My Farm in York was siesed by the Dept: Marshall eight day's after my arrival in the county & also the same length of time had elapsed [[crossed-out]] after
