0287 Elizabeth City Co Va November 1st 1865 Col. O Brown Supt Freedmen Ref. and Ab Land, &c&c for Virginia Col, Your petitioner most respectfully asks restoration [[strikethrough]] that [[strikethrough]] of a certain tract of land lying in the county of Elizabeth City Va. Said land fell to him in a survey of his fathers Estate pursuant to a decree of the county court of said county entered Dec. term 1860 - and is a part of what is known as Bloomfield Place. Contains by survey One hundred and fifteen 65/100 acres and is bounded on North by Branch of Back River south by land of Dr H Poole and county road on east by land of R A Davis and on west by land of of S S Nicholas. Your petitioner comes fully under benefits of Amnesty Proclamation of Pres Lincoln and Johnston therewith tenders a copy of his Amnesty oath certificate clerk US Court that proceeding's have been discontinued against his property, with view to confiscation - proof of title - Certificate that he is not or ever has been the possessor of property to the amount of $20,000- Most respectfully submitted.
