Fourteenth, I give and bequeath unto the Treasurer of the Board of trustees of Chowan Female Collegiate Institute Murfreesboro, NC, the sum of two hundred dollars.

Fifteenth _ I request my friend the Rev. Thomas Hume to have a marble slab or slabs with proper inscriptions placed over the graves of my beloved wife, my dear children, and my own the cast of the same to be paid out of my Estate. Sixteenth - I give and bequeath unto my friend, Rev Thomas Hume, after the death of my sister Mrs. Louisa H Cross My farm called the Old Place, on which, my father resided, and which Michael Dennis now resides, I desire him to lease or rent out the aforesaid Farm and apply the proceeds thereof to the supply of destitute places or feeble churches belonging to the Portsmouth Baptist Association with the preaching of the Gospel or in such a manner as he may think best. I hereby provide that if my heirs or distributees or either of them shall attempt to set aside this bequest as illegal, or if any other legal impediment shall ensue, then I do give an bequeath in absolutely fee all my right and title in the aforesaid farm to the aforesaid Thomas Hume. 

Seventeenth, I hereby appoint my friend the Rev Thomas Hume of Portsmouth the Executor of this my last will and Testament and I wish him to sell all my property of every kind both real and personal, except that herein named and bequeathed and to collect all the debts due me, except that heretofore bequeathed to my cousin James Carney and after paying all my just debts, I desire him to pay the sums herein bequeathed in the order in which they are herein placed, that is, in case of any deficiency, those bequests which reach the amount of my estate shall have preference in the order in which there are herein inserted, whatever balance or residue of my estate, as well real [[as?]] personal, wherever situate, and being, and of what nature and land soever not here in before given and bequeathed. I do hereby give, devise, and bequeath the same and every part and parcel thereof to my friend the Rev. Thomas Hume, I desire him to invest the same in some safe manner and expend the interest thereof upon such objects or in such a manner as he may think agrees with the spirits of the bequests already made to him and others or in such a way as will best promote the cause of benevolence or help to advance the interest of the Redeemers Kingdom. I hereby provide if my heirs or distributees or either of them shall attempt to set aside this bequest as illegal or if any other legal impediment shall insue, then I do hereby give, devise, and bequeath, in absolute fee, the aforesaid residue of my Estate to the aforesaid Thomas Hume, his heirs Executors, administrators, and assigns forever.
