My Farm is held by the freedman bureau for the use of its buildings which are subserveant to the Whitehead farm that is in cultivation by the Government. There are scarcely any hands on the place in the Govt employ and as Col Brown told me the farm would be turned over to me this winter, I respectfully ask the privilige of having the farm fenced and Ditched early as it can be done. If it is not Ditched by the last of September there will be too much water in them to do so before next Summer and if it is not ditched before that time, I cant plant a crop next Spring. I truly hope I may be allowed to go to work on the place & put it in condition for next years crop, promising that my work will not intirfere with the tenants of the other farm stationed on mine in any respect Every thing I had has been lost to me & if not allowed, the privilige to prepare for next year I am compelled to suffer.

Very Respectfully,
Mary Savage
