Harpers Ferry West Virginia
September 6th 1865

I John B Johnson of Alexandria city State of Virginia
do solemnly swear in presence of Almighty God that I will
henceforth faithfully support protect and defend the constitution of the United States and The union of the States thereunder and that at I will in like manner abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations which have been made during the existing rebellion with referance to the emancipation of slaves.
So Help me God.   J. B. Johnson

And further I do solemnly swear that I do not come under any of the exceptions enumerated in the presidents proclamations of date May 29th 1865
