obtain in Norfolk for the support of herself and children.  That upon getting to Richmond her husband, then 47 years of age and infirm, found employment in the Treasury Dept. of the Confederate Govt. and which he continued in up to the time of the surrender of that place in April 1865.  That before leaving Norfolk the said House and Lot was rented to Mrs. Frisby, who remained in it only a few days, when the Government took possession of it about the last of October 1863, and the same is now under the control of the Bureau of F. & A. Lands.

Your petitioner having returned to the City of Norfolk and taken the oath of Amnesty under the President's proclamation of the 29th May 1865, which she intends in good faith to keep and observe, as well as all laws now in existence or hereafter made for the peace and happiness of the Govt. so far as the same may be in her power, prays that the said property may be restored to her.  Your petitioner herewith filed the said oath of Amnesty, and
