The Undersigned, You Petitioner, whose Real Estate, hereinafter described, is held in the County of Accomack, Virginia, as Abandoned Property, by the Deputy of the United States, respectfully applies for the restoration of the same, to which she believes herself legally entitled, as follows:

She is a non-resident of Accomack County, and has not resided therein since the year 1858, when she first acquired, by request, the title of the said property. At the beginning of the late war, she was residing abroad, with her relatives and friends, in attendance upon an invalid mother; and being herself an invalid, it has not been in her power since that time to return to Accomack to protect her rights in her property. She has never abandoned her property, nor has she been, at anytime, voluntarily absent from it in consequence of the war. She has held no personal connection with the Rebellion, nor with so-called Confederate Movement, rather simply suffered, in person & in property, the consequences of causes beyond her control. She is not embraced in any of the Excepted classes of the Amnesty Proclamation,
