To Chas Johnson, Esq:
Asst. Superintendent Bureau Freedmen &c
Norfolk City Va

Sir

I beg to submit the following statement in relation to the lot & tenement, No 88 East Main Street Norfolk Va; and, to ask that it be restored to me, with all the rights and privileges of ownership.

This property has never been in the actual possession of the Military Authorities; and in all other respects, stands in the same condition as the house and a lot, No 90, first restored to me by order of the Freedmen's Bureau at Richmond, Va.

This tenement was not embraced in the petition, to that Bureau, for the reason that, at the time, the petition was made, I was not aware that the lot & tenement, No 88, was in the possession of the Freedmen's Bureau, or on the books of that Office. I have since learned that the property is leased, to the tenants, by the Freedmen's Bureau, and I would respectfully ask that, if consistent with your powers & duty, the [[/strikethrough]] property [[strikethrough]] same may, by your order, be restored to me as the lot & tenement No 90, have been.

Respectfully &c
Geo Loyall
