Genl,
I have the honor to make application for the possession of my property situated in the city of Portsmouth, State of Virginia, consisting of Three Houses and lots situated as follows:

Two on High Street on leased Land the ground rent of which is due and has been accumulating for the last three years and still remains unpaid, which, if continued may forfeit the buildings.

The other situated on King Street belongs to me in whole 
 
The property was taken possession of as abandoned property in 11/14. I left the city of Portsmouth, to go South on private business not to aid the Rebellion in any way in 1862.

I left my family in city of Portsmouth in possession of all of my property who has paid all taxes both State and U. States, up to the present time.
