Respectfully forwarded. Mrs. Moore received a deed of gift of this property from her husband on, or about the time of the evacuation. If such a deed is legal, then her property should be restored. She has paid all taxes on it in her own name.
If it is her husband's property it was clearly abandoned, but he has taken the amnesty oath.

Johnston, for evidence that Mrs Moore received from her husband the deed of gift as stated, Also for report as to whether or not Mr, Moore comes under any of the exceptions of the Presidents proclamation, if he does, as to whether he has been pardoned or not, and if he does not, proof that he has taken the necessary steps to reinstate him as a citizen of the U.S.
