The Petition of Mariam Moore, of the County of Princess Anne Virginia, respectfully represents. That in the year 1839 One Bagwell Moore the husband of your petitioner died in the County of Princess Anne seized of 109 1/2 acres of land on Little Creek, and upon which he lived at the time of his death, and upon which your petitioner continued to live and occupy as his widow from the time of his death till the 15th January 1865, when she was ordered away beyond the Federal lines; and where she remained till the 5th day of July 1865, when your petitioner returned to the County of Princess Anne. Upon the return of your petitioner to the County, she found that the said property had seen taken possession of, and was in the hands of the Government as abandoned lands, and that the same was in the occupancy of negroes, put there by the Govt.

Your petitioner prays that the said farm may be restored to her, and she permitted again to return to her home. She files herewith the Certificate of the Clerk of the Princess Anne
