The Petition of Thos N. Murray, of the County of Princess Anne, respectfully represents, that he is the owner of a farm, containing one hundred and thirty five acres, which was allotted to him in the division of the estate of his father Thos Murray. This farm lies about four miles from the village of Kempsville in the said County of Princess Anne. He files herewith the Certificate of the Clerk of said County, in proof of the title of your petitioner to the same. That your petitioner left the County of Princess Anne about the 10th May 1862 as a member of a Volunteer Company for the South, where he remained till the first of May 1865, when he returned home, and found his said farm in the possession of the Government as abandoned property; and the same has continued to be held and occupied up to the date hereof. Your petitioner now prays that the same may be restored to him, having taken the Amnesty oath as prescribed by the
