property for more than two years, at the end of which time it was seized by the Asst Treasury agent as abandoned property belonging to T. J. Corfrew. The said property is now in your possession. The rents have been collected by the Government agents for some two years. In the mean time, all the taxes and insurance have been paid by Mr. O'Keefe. Since the seizure of the property as abandoned, all the right, title, and interest of T. J. Corfrew therein was libelled by the District Attorney of the United States as forfeited to the Government. On the 27th day of September last, on hearing of the cause, it was ordered and decreed by the District Court that the Libel and all proceedings therein be dismissed. A copy of said decree is herewith enclosed marked "C".

The interest of Thos. J. Corfrew in the said property having been restored to him by the Court, the reason for so long a detention of the property from Mr. O'Keefe, no longer exists. T. J. Corfrew now demands of Mr. O'Keefe the balance of the purchase money with interest thereon from the time it became due. There can be no doubt of his right to recover, and, of course, Mr. O'Keefe will have it all to pay; although he has lost the use of his property for two years, worth to him, at the least calculation, Three hundred dollars per annum.
