1043 Norfolk Va July 7th 1865. Col. O. Brown Sir, Having been informed that my former home, which had been taken possession of by the United States Authorities, is about to be vacated, I now write for permission to be made custodian of it until Government shall again require it, when I promise to deliver it over to the proper Officials.
