Mr Porter has been living in Petersburg, for more than (7) seven years. He was never in the rebellion, he being an old man (58) Fifty Eight Years old, and was Cashier of Planters & Savings Bank of that City. His daughter was living on this property teaching school, and did not leave the property [[until]] the non-combatants here were ordered to leave, it being necessary to shell the place Wm. Hedges Capt and Asst Supt F.B. E.B.P.14.
