Sir, Your Petitioner respectfully & herewith that he is the owner of a House and Lot in City Point, the title to which was duly recorded in the clerks office of the County of Prince George, which House he built and occupied himself a number of years and afterwards rented it out to others, That said House has been occupied by a Band of Musicians belonging to Genl. Grants Army till a sort time back, but is now occupied by colored People who are able and willing to pay him rent if the property is turned over to him, and furthermore that he is 58 years of age, was employed all the time of the war (with the exception of 3 months) as Cashier of the planters Savings Bank of this City and took no part in it - That said House and lot are all the property he possessed and that he needs the rental to enable him to pay back rent in Petersburg where he now resides. Therefore he respectfully and earnestly requests that you will order said House and Lot to be delivered over to his control.
