Norfolk Aug 1st 1865

Lieut. Jno. Keatly

Dear Sir
I herein respectly apply for my houses on Bermuda St Nos 53, 55, 57, 59 - 61 - "no number" being- 7 houses, & one 44 James St.

My property was released by the Sect of the Treasury, but by some oversight has been left on the books, of the Agt. My whole estate in Norfolk including [[strikethrough]] hous [[/strikethrough]] all my houses is not over $17000.- seventeen thousand dolls by Assessors book. I should have applied for my houses before when I made application for the property on Union & Water St, which have been delivered by Lieut Keatley, but that I thought it was already in my possession having been here 7 months, and lived away from this long anterior to the rebellion and did not enter into it I have had possession of some of this property & put a large amount of repairs on it, where to my surprise I find it on your books.
Very respectfully
J.M. Pullem
