only took place a short time ago. This house had been rented for a long time out by my mother and was not occupied as her residence. She has remained here in Norfolk all the time during the War and this could not have been considered as Abandoned Property, having been occupied and used by her during the War the same as before the war. I was a minor while away from here and have returned and taken the Amnesty Oath according to the terms of President Johnson's Proclamation. I make this application for the possession of this house and lot. hoping you will think it right and just to return it to me. No legal proceedings have been instituted.
