3rd That the said John D. Ragland, first pay all costs, which may have accrued in any proceedings instituted or pending against his person or property, before the date of the acceptance of this warrent.

4th That the said John. D. Ragland shall not by virtue of this warrant, claim any property or the proceeds of any property that has been sold by the order. judgement, or decree of a Court under the confiscation laws of the United States.

5th That the said John D. Ragland shall notify the Secretary of State, in writing, that he has received and accepted the foregoing pardon.

In testimony whereof, I have hereunto signed my name and caused the Seal of the United States to be affixed

what's with the random slashes before certain words? they can't be the start of a cursive letter since some of them don't even connect and are written weirdly hmm, president johnson and secretary seward writes their S's like L's ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-04-13 11:07:26 These marks before "and" and some other words are actually an intentional style of cursive, so I have deleted the "commas" which are not actually commas. Notice that the majority of these marks come before the shaping of the lowercase "a." Thanks for pointing out this unusual style of cursive.
