Colonel.
Having received a Special pardon from the President, as appears by a certified copy of the warrant herewith sent; having an unquestionable title to the property herein after mentioned, as will appear by reference to the papers relating thereto herein enclosed; and having by the certificate of the Clerk of the District Court of the United States, in Virginia, hereon endorsed, furnished evidence that the United States has not acquired title to the land hereinafter mentioned, by Sale, Confiscation or otherwise, and indeed that no steps have been taken for its confiscation; I respectfully ask, in accordance with your General Orders No 19 dated 16th Sept. 1865, that I may be restored to the possession of my house and lot of land on Sycamore Street Petersburg Virginia, adjoining the residence of John Dodson Esq., and at present occupied
